Sorry for the gap

I'm trying to convert my Wordpress blog, into this blogger site. It's difficult, and challenging to say the least. So what I'm going to do is, post my old link to this page, so everything that has been written so far is accessible. My site is, parkybrawler.Wordpress.com   By going to this site, you will see what my family and I went through!! I will start off, where I last posted, so that I can describe my life with this disease. Comments and suggestions are most welcomed.

A Parkinson's Poem

This is a poem, of a uniques family fight. Though not blood related, we are in our sight. We've all come together, to battle more than 1 disease. One is called Dystonia, and the other Parkinson's disease.  It has no cure, nor does it care who it attacks. No discrimination of color, age, or gender for that fact. It breaks down our nervous sys, and hurts our muscles and joints too Messes with our emotions, mentality and our loved ones too. BUT HERE US DISEASE, you like a thief in the night. You've picked the wrong family, to try and start a fight. We're #NEVER GIVE UP, hear us loud, clear and true. You wanted this battle, well we're bring the war to you!!!! Our weapons, our tactics, so simple and yet so strong. We "Don't stop believing", like that ol Journey song. Sure they'll be times, when you get your own way. Take over our body, makes us cry, sad and afraid. There's one thing to remember, you bully, crook, and liar. This NGU CREW right here, we THRIVE TO INSPIRE. WE use encouraging words, and express true genuine care. And one of our favorite weapons, is laughter in the air. Amazing, and special folks we are, so you can't keep us down. We pick each other up, and dust you to the ground. Right now there's no cure, but just you wait and see. When you're secrets exposed, you'll be laughed at hehe. We are #NGU, with a bond that this disease will not break. We're coming after you disease, serving you on a plate!!!

Time Out On Pain-Not

Now where was I with my story? That's right, I just played with a clogged corty needle. As much as I would like to do that again, I'll pass. I'm a man, I'm gonna suck it up.

For a few years after that I had no issues. I was your average family man, or was I? My kids were/are the greatest, my wife of course needs her own blog for me to describe her. I will say this, she is a RARE BREED, and she is truly BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT!!!

Then there's moi,, whew, what can I say? I was in my early thirties, strong as an ox, a tall drink of water!!! Sounds good!!! I crack myself up sometimes. Ok, I confess, the ox was a wee bit off! More like the Hulk, but better looking. I was blessed with an awesome job, and nice home. We were blessed beyond measure.

Anybody ever had their tonsils out as an adult? Let me tell you, that is so much fun! That surgery was one to remember. That's on my next post. Ice cream was a non factor for comfort. Can you believe it? Who said that anyway?

Allergies are the worst. You can't breath, your eyes water, and you sneeze your brains out! I'd never had allergies until I got married and moved to the country. Cutting grass was horrid. Whenever I got finished, my face looked like I had gotten jumped. You know me, I just sucked it up!

Fast forward a couple years, new home in the city, kids, a little older, but still built like a work of art!!! I couldn't resist, sorry. I thought my allergies would have toned down some, not so much. The last straw was when my eyes had swollen shut after picking strawberries. That and constant drainage and a little thing called sleep apnea. Yeah, the not breathing and snoring was a bit annoying and concerning.

Here comes the fun part, an appointment with my friendly neighborhood E.N.T.  After shoving a probe through my nose to see my tonsils(my tongue was to big),and multiple tests and appointments, I found out that I was allergic to almost everything except air, a splash of infected tonsils, and sleep apnea!! The nurse that tested me for allergies couldn't believe how I was still breathing! That was a mouthful, literally!

How can I get relief from the drainage, snoring, infected tonsils and sleep apnea? Drum roll please, tonsillectomy!!! Yes, I'm about to sit back and mow on some Turkey Hill or Edy's ice cream ya'll. Let's do this!!!

Unmmm, I just want to say that having a tonsillectomy as an adult was PAINFUL!! Laid in the bed four days sipping on h2o, liquid painkillers, and Popsicles. Yeah, I tried the ice cream theory and I cried like a baby. I called the doctor after 5 days and said, "hey doctor, the post op notes said thar the pain would subside after 4 to 5 days?" Doctor says in a calm voice, "yes, if you were 5 or 6 years old. You're a grown man, 10 days of pain, at least". So I picked up my man card that my doctor just took from me and sipped my sorrows away. I've cream theory, boooo!!!

How it all began!!!!

I know what you're thinking, what happened to you? Here's it is!!

Having flat feet is no picnic, especially when your job involves a lot of walking, climbing ladders, carrying tools, etc, etc. With that being said, I had one foot that was driving me up the wall!!! You wanna talk about painful!!! This wee little doggy was ruffling my feathers. Sorry, I always wanted to say that. Walking and standing were very painful. I tried a bunch of shoes, so called arch supports, and I even had a couple of  CORTISONE SHOTS.

Let me speak on the shots for a moment. One, they hurt, because the needle is as long as a ruler, plus all that NEEDLE RULER, has to go in for the medicine to reach the affected area. Did I mention the size of the needle yet?  Lol!!!! My second visit was my most memorable!!!  I had to take my daughter with me, and at that time she was about 3 I believe. We're in the office and I get called up to get my  corty shot and boy am I ever pumped, NOT!!! The doctor pulls out his ruler and proceeds with the drilling, I mean injection,  and tries to push in the needle, but somethings WRONG!!  So he kept pushing and pulling for a few moments, and it finally dawned on him, somethings wrong. To myself I said well, was it my loud groans or the waterfall of sweat pouring down my face that gave it away? People, the doctor said, "that's funny, the needle has no hole, it's clogged. I guess I have to get another needle". Wow, are you serious? Who has ever had that happen before? Good times. By the way, that was my last corty shot.

That relief was short lived, but not the memory, and eventually the pain came back with a vengeance. So I had to get something done, and yes, I surely did. That decision changed our life forever!!!!

Hello...I'm The Parky Brawler

Hello, I’m Keith, and I am going to attempt to tell my story of being healthy one minute, and disabled by life altering changes the next.  The short story is I have early onset Parkinson's Disease, Fibromyalgia, and chronic foot pain.  What a journey it is for my family and I.  I wish I had an explanation for it all, but I don’t.
I call myself ParkyBrawler because it encourages me to see myself as a fighter.  NEVER GIVE UP!  Checkout the Facebook group that I am a member of #nevergiveup Parkinson's and Dystonia.
It will be a story of sadness and a lot of laughter!!! I say laughter because that’s my personality. I have a strong faith in Christ, and He keeps me grounded. My family is awesome, especially my wife who is helping me with blogging/vlogging. She is truly Heaven sent.
If you followed me on my WordPress blog, some of the postings may be a repeat for you, but I hope that they will be just as funny and encouraging the second time around.
Please bear with me as I try to keep a steady post. Thank you!!
