Now where was I with my story? That's right, I just played with a clogged corty needle. As much as I would like to do that again, I'll pass. I'm a man, I'm gonna suck it up.
For a few years after that I had no issues. I was your average family man, or was I? My kids were/are the greatest, my wife of course needs her own blog for me to describe her. I will say this, she is a RARE BREED, and she is truly BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT!!!
Then there's moi,, whew, what can I say? I was in my early thirties, strong as an ox, a tall drink of water!!! Sounds good!!! I crack myself up sometimes. Ok, I confess, the ox was a wee bit off! More like the Hulk, but better looking. I was blessed with an awesome job, and nice home. We were blessed beyond measure.
Anybody ever had their tonsils out as an adult? Let me tell you, that is so much fun! That surgery was one to remember. That's on my next post. Ice cream was a non factor for comfort. Can you believe it? Who said that anyway?
Allergies are the worst. You can't breath, your eyes water, and you sneeze your brains out! I'd never had allergies until I got married and moved to the country. Cutting grass was horrid. Whenever I got finished, my face looked like I had gotten jumped. You know me, I just sucked it up!
Fast forward a couple years, new home in the city, kids, a little older, but still built like a work of art!!! I couldn't resist, sorry. I thought my allergies would have toned down some, not so much. The last straw was when my eyes had swollen shut after picking strawberries. That and constant drainage and a little thing called sleep apnea. Yeah, the not breathing and snoring was a bit annoying and concerning.
Here comes the fun part, an appointment with my friendly neighborhood E.N.T. After shoving a probe through my nose to see my tonsils(my tongue was to big),and multiple tests and appointments, I found out that I was allergic to almost everything except air, a splash of infected tonsils, and sleep apnea!! The nurse that tested me for allergies couldn't believe how I was still breathing! That was a mouthful, literally!
How can I get relief from the drainage, snoring, infected tonsils and sleep apnea? Drum roll please, tonsillectomy!!! Yes, I'm about to sit back and mow on some Turkey Hill or Edy's ice cream ya'll. Let's do this!!!
Unmmm, I just want to say that having a tonsillectomy as an adult was PAINFUL!! Laid in the bed four days sipping on h2o, liquid painkillers, and Popsicles. Yeah, I tried the ice cream theory and I cried like a baby. I called the doctor after 5 days and said, "hey doctor, the post op notes said thar the pain would subside after 4 to 5 days?" Doctor says in a calm voice, "yes, if you were 5 or 6 years old. You're a grown man, 10 days of pain, at least". So I picked up my man card that my doctor just took from me and sipped my sorrows away. I've cream theory, boooo!!!

Oh snap!!!! I feel ya!!! Adult tonsilectomy...no fun!! Hemmoraged the stitches and got double pneumonia !!! Great blog and NO, ice cream doesn't help!!!
